Topic: Dogs are better than cats.

Argument for Dogs:
  Dogs are better than cats because they are useful. They are also more affectionate and can be taught to behave better than cats. Dogs are better looking and enjoy attention. 

  Dogs will protect you to the point of giving their very lives to do so. They become a part of the family, and are easier to control when trained properly. They can be used for various purposes. Police can use dogs to help find and control suspects. Dogs are also used for drug and bomb detection.

  Dogs are just better than cats, period. Cats stink and they roam around the neighborhood causing problems. They only pay attention to you if they want something. In short, cats are worthless and dogs are great.

Argument against dogs being better than cats:

  Cats are better than dogs because they are easier to care for. Cats also don't maul people to death like some dogs do. Cat's fur is softer and nicer to pet. Cats can be taught to go in their litter boxes very easily. Cats will entertain themselves when left alone, so you don't have to worry about them.

  Cats also don't need licenses and rabies shots. They don't have to be let outside to do their business, as they do it right in a litter box, which is no problem cleaning up. Cats are fun to play with, right from a chair. A dog needs to be taken outside to play. They are also much better looking than dogs. And they are easily transported in a carrier.

  Cats are much better pets for people than dogs are. They are not constantly underfoot and will hunt mice. Dogs are dangerous and cats are not. Therefore, it must be concluded that cats are better than dogs.

Rebuttal to Cat argument:

  Can one really say that a pet is better just because they are easier to care for. In that case, get fish. Dogs rarely maul people to death. It is only a few cases where irresponsible owners allow their dog's to maul anyone. Except in the line of duty where a dog will protect you. Something a cat can't do, even if it wanted to.

  Cats should be licensed. Cats too can carry diseases to people and other pets. It is just an oversight on the part of government that cats don't need licenses. As far as being easy to play with in a chair, that just promotes unhealthy laziness on the part of the owner. And dogs can be transported in a carrier just as easily as a cat can.

  Dogs also hunt mice, and can be taught not to be underfoot. So, it has to be concluded that dogs are better than cats.

Rebuttal to Dog argument:

  Cats are too useful. They are known to help people relax. As well as cats well known ability to catch small pests. Cats have also been known to protect their owners in some instances. And cats are better looking than dogs. Cats can be just as affectionate as dogs; they are just less annoying about being so. They can also be trained. It just takes more patience than with dogs that are willing to do anything that their wants of them. Cats think for themselves and can teach us many things.

  As far as police having dogs, that is fine. Because we know that the police will protect us. But, only police and other security officials should be allowed to have dogs. Dogs are dangerous and should only be allowed to be used by government officials.

  Cats are safer, prettier, and easier to take care of. And there is no reason that they should be licensed. Cats are better than dogs and that should be self-evident.
